The 2011 exhibition at the AV Fairgrounds will further include displays by the AV Indian Museum and the Air Force Flight Test Center from Edwards Air Force Base. The exhibit will be at the fair for its full 10 day run (August 19th thru 28th). AVRM president Bill Rawlings shared, “It’s the past that helps us define the future, and we have a rich history here in the Antelope Valley. Preserving that past for future generations is what our organization is all about. And there’s an urgency in preserving these materials because, with the passage of time, it becomes increasingly difficult to document, collect and restore these artifacts.” Rawlings has a particular passion for the organization since his father’s Model T Ford was used in early Rural Olympics races.
